Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
This privacy policy explains how IPTV NZ (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit iptvnz.org, contact us on WhatsApp or buy a subscription. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
The information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide and support your subscription:
- Contact details: your name (or the name on your WhatsApp profile) and your WhatsApp phone number.
- Messages: the content of your conversations with us on WhatsApp, including any photos or screenshots you send for support.
- Order details: the plan you buy, its start and end dates, and your renewal history.
- Payment confirmation: details needed to confirm your payment, such as a transaction reference, amount and payer name. Card and bank payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we don’t ask for or store full card numbers.
- Device details you share: for example the type of device you use, or a MAG box’s MAC address, so we can set up and support your service.
- Service data: basic technical information generated when you use the service, such as connection times and IP addresses, which helps us keep the service running and secure.
- Website data: like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request) for security and performance.
Cookies and analytics
Our website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress, the software that runs our site, may set strictly necessary cookies for logged-in administrators only. If we add analytics or other cookies in the future, we’ll update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your questions and process your order;
- activate, manage and renew your subscription;
- provide setup help and technical support;
- confirm payments and keep accurate business records;
- protect the service against fraud, abuse and unauthorised use, including shared or resold logins;
- meet our legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t send marketing messages unless you’ve asked to hear from us. You can tell us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it’s needed to run the service, with:
- Messaging: WhatsApp, which carries our conversations with you under its own privacy policy and terms.
- Payment providers: who process your payment securely under their own privacy terms.
- Service and hosting providers: who operate our website and the infrastructure behind the subscription.
- Authorities: where we’re required to by law, or where it’s necessary to prevent a serious threat to someone’s safety.
Storing information outside New Zealand
Some of the providers we use, and some members of our support team, are based outside New Zealand. That means your personal information may be stored or accessed overseas. Where we disclose information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s protected in a way that is comparable to the safeguards in the Privacy Act 2020.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above — generally while you’re a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can handle renewals, questions and our record-keeping obligations. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous. You can ask us to delete your chat history and records sooner, unless we’re required to keep them by law.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including limiting access to the people who need it to support you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please help by keeping your login private and never sharing banking passwords or PINs in any chat.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it’s wrong. To make a request, message us on WhatsApp at +44 7576 966392. We’ll respond as soon as we reasonably can, and within the timeframes the Act requires. We may need to confirm your identity before we release or change any information.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Children
Our subscriptions are sold to adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how we operate or the law changes. The date at the bottom of the page shows when it was last updated.
